The hard engineering has gone in for the Olympic restrictions – Remnant Street is blockaded, a huge pedestrian island has sprung up in the middle of Kingsway and, weirdly the postbox on Kingsway near Great Queen Street has been wrapped in clingfilm because they won’t be letting the post office van stop there to empty it.
