Some enquiries of Camden have unearthed the latest Olympic Route Network changes to Kingsway. It’s much more radical than earlier proposals we posted on this site – Remnant Street at the NW corner of the Fields will be blockaded to all but cycles. There will also be a barrier in the middle of Kingsway to stop people trying to turn into Great Queen Street or I suppose U-turn. I am not sure where this came from, nor what local consultations with amenity and community groups took place. Will try to find out.
You can find the two final diagrams of the local ORN tucked away on the TfL website – a close up on Kingsway and the entire Euston Road to Aldwych section. The diagrams are very recent – an ‘artists impression’ and are correct as of May 2012. I am fairly good at using the internet and can’t figure out why I couldn’t find these before.
